About the itemMilagros are small votive charms from Mexico, and other Latin American countries. As part of a religious ritual or an act of devotion, milagros can be offered to a saint as a reminder of a petitioner's need, or in thanks for a prayer answered. They are used to assist in focusing attention towards a specific ailment or desire, based on the type of charm used. Milagro symbolism is not limited to the obvious; milagro's of a body part, such as a leg, might be used as part of a prayer for the improvement of a leg pain or condition; or they might refer to a concept such as travel. Similarly, a heart might represent a heart condition, a romance, or any number of other interpretations. The work Milagro therefore is literally translated as "miracle" in Spanish. Our Milagro's are cast from 19th & early 20th century vintage originals collected on our travels and make wonderful charms - you may want to trust to their spiritual values, but if not, you can enjoy them for their simple style. We offer several different sizes, to suit everyone - try 1 with your favourite stone, or a collection of Milagro's in different sizes for a stunning necklace.
This is the largest of our Milagros, engraved with a veined pattern and pierced through with a sword. It measures 45mm x 34mm, and is a stunning pendant on its own; or team it with a couple of smaller milagros for a layered effect
